Counsel in the record

The attorneys who appear in at least five published DOHA hearing decisions, on both sides. Names, case volumes and active years are free. Outcome analytics on each profile are part of Professional, and CASE never ranks counsel by outcome.

Department Counsel are the government's attorneys, the side presenting the case against clearance.

Applicant counsel appeared for applicants. A volume count is not a quality ranking: harder cases are often the ones that reach a hearing at all.

How the process worksCounsel appear at a set point in a published sequence. Open this for the short version of that sequence.

A contested case follows a published path: a Statement of Reasons, the government's written list of its concerns (an SOR), a written answer, a hearing or a decision on the written record, the judge's decision, and in some cases an appeal.

Read the stages of a DOHA case · Ask a question about the process

Names come from the decisions themselves. Counsel appear only where the published decision names them, and an outcome belongs to the whole case rather than to any one participant. Descriptive of decided public cases, never a prediction, a ranking, or advice. The judges who decided these cases are in the judge directory.

Outcome analytics by counsel is part of Professional.

Counts of appearances in published decisions. Caseload and case mix differ: an association in the decided record, not causation, and never a ranking.
